Arusha National Park, conveniently located near both Arusha and Moshi towns, is an ideal destination for a 1-day safari. Not only does the park boast abundant wildlife, but it also stands out as one of Tanzania’s most stunning and topographically diverse parks. The park’s three most notable landmarks include the rugged Mount Meru—Tanzania’s second-highest peak at 4,565 meters, the distinctly colored Momela Lakes, and the 3-kilometer wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed approximately fifteen million years ago.
During your visit, you’ll enjoy a scenic lunch by the serene Momela Lakes, followed by an exhilarating afternoon game drive exploring both the Momela Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater. Wildlife sightings may include African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, and occasionally a rare leopard or hyena. In the late afternoon, you will return to Arusha or Moshi.

Game Drive: Choose between a half-day or full-day game drive to discover the park’s main attractions, such as the picturesque Momella Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as ‘Little Ngorongoro.’ This is a fantastic opportunity to observe the park’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

This walk takes you through expansive forests, where you may encounter black-and-white colobus monkeys, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The park also boasts over 400 bird species, including the Crowned Eagle, Lanner Falcon, and Levaillant’s Cuckoo.
You have the flexibility to combine these activities as you wish; however, please note that both the canoe safari and walking safari involve additional costs.
