During your guided walk through the forest, you’ll have the opportunity to observe blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and a variety of forest bird species and butterflies. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the forest’s unique trees, some of which are up to 200 years old. A highlight of the tour is the sacred Mvule tree (Milicia excelsa), estimated to be 196 years old. This revered tree is a spiritual site where locals come to pray for various needs.

Enjoy panoramic views of nearby rice plantations, where colorful water birds add to the picturesque landscape. Savor a refreshing coconut drink offered by local farmers and, weather permitting, catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance.

After a delicious lunch prepared by local women, you are invited to participate in a meaningful tree-planting activity. By collecting seeds and planting a seedling in our tree nursery, you contribute to the conservation efforts of the Rau Forest. This hands-on experience allows you to leave a lasting impact on the environment and helps in the fight against climate change.
